We met up with Nancy and Eric at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville, GA for their engagement photos. We will be doing their wedding in July. It was one of those HOT HOT Georgia days with the sun blazing down! It made for a very difficult shoot for lighting. The falls were so inviting, you really considered playing in the water! It’s nice to see that the falls have recovered from the drought, as they are a favorite place of ours. Here are a few photos from our day.

After a long climb down steps!

With the last few days being so glum and rainy, here are a few shots of color! These are some flower shots from last spring,
which is such a lovely time of the year!
We would like to take a moment to wish everyone a very Happy 2009! We hope that even though these are times of struggle, everyone will take a minute to count their blessings. It is always very easy to feel that things just can’t get any worse, but reality is that they really can. Therefore, no matter how small or large your trials are, they can always be worse. May you all have warm beds, plentiful tables, and lots of love in 2009!
This too shall pass.

Josh & Cynthia were married on October 24, 2008 at the 173 Carlyle House in Norcross, Georgia. It was an absolutely beautiful location and the staff was very helpful! Despite the drab and dreary day, it did not put a damper on the festivities. We had a blast with Josh & Cynthia! They were really laid back and fun. We got a lot of really great shots and enjoyed every moment!
Here are some of our favorites from the day:

Cynthia had a gorgeous dress!

We got to experience our first ever “mashed potato bar! It was quite yummy!

Fancy potato glasses!
Again, thanks guys for the great experience!
Wayne & Lynn were married on October 18, 2008 in Rome, Georgia. Everything was so beautiful and we captured every moment! Wayne’s aunt was so very helpful with coordinating things. We enjoyed meeting everyone and hope the happy couple had a wonderful time in Hawaii!
Here are some previews of the day:
Roger and Jenna were wed in Palmetto, Georgia on September 27, 2008. We were very honored to capture their day and meet their family and friends. Everyone was so welcoming and kind! Jenna had a very unique and original dress that was so gorgeous! We loved the colors! The big day was planned by Eventtagious and they did a fantastic job, we must say!

So, what have we been up to lately? Well, after catching up on all our weddings this past summer and getting ready for fall ones…we have started working on a new website! This is going to be a really big adventure for me to learn about flash and such. So, stay tuned as I expect it to totally kick butt!!
We have been getting a lot of questions lately about our most recent “trash the dress” session. Because this is a newer trend, we thought we should take a little time to explain the rage!
”Trash the dress” is a new way to get a little more wear out of your wedding dress. Let’s face it, your dress that you spent so much money on is NEVER going to be worn again! Your daughter is NOT going to want to wear an outdated dress. You are likely going to want to experience the thrill of helping her find that perfect dress after shopping all over town. Why spend the extra money to have your dress dry cleaned when it is going to simply hang in the closet or be tucked away in a box forever? So, instead of spending more on the dress, why not spend more time in it??
This session is an absolute blast, for both us as photographers, and the bride. The session is shot after the wedding, so there is no more stress. Who cares if the dress gets dirty at this point? It is a laid back session full of fun. This is the chance for our bride to feel a bit more sexy in her dress and show some attitude. Don’t forget about the groom too! The groom can either be a part of the shoot and get some really steamy shots with his new bride, or just enjoy the photos of his bride. Believe it or not, this is something that the groom really loves!
There are a TON of locations that can really be great for this session. For instance: waterfalls (like our last session), lakes, fountains (such as Centennial Olympic Park), beaches, etc. If getting wet is not your thing, how about: farms (with machinery looks really cool), trains, old cars, urban settings (such as Chattanooga), etc. This is really a chance to let your hair down and let us show off our creativity.
We hope this gives everyone a clearer vision on what “Trash the Dress” is all about. If you have any questions, let us know and we can discuss it further. We would love to have our next session with you!
Evan and Rebecca’s big day finally arrived. They were wed in Cave Spring, Georgia. The site was very cool with an old church, great reception site, and as the name states…a cave! Getting married in Cave Spring, we had to take pictures in the cave! Everything was perfect and we enjoyed capturing the details of every moment. Evan and Rebecca were so sweet and we know they will continue to share many more memories! Thanks to both of them for giving us the honor of getting to know them and their families! Here are some of our favorites from the day.

We had the honor of capturing Nikki & Tyler’s Wedding on July 12, 2008, in Dalton, Georgia. We met up with them both at Trevitt Hall, in downtown Dalton, Georgia, to take extremely awesome (if I do say so myself) photos of their first moment seeing each other. This is a new and very time efficient trend. It also gives us a chance to capture in photograph that moment together. Very romantic! The owners of Trevitt Hall were very accomodating and extremely friendly! We thank them dearly for being so flexible with us and offering their lovely site for these photos. We were very impressed.
We really enjoyed everyone from both sides of the family! Mrs. Barrett (mother-of-the-bride) made sure to take care of us and that we ate. I must say that that was the best tasting Groom’s Cake ever!! Nikki was a beautiful bride and looked just like a princess. If Tyler isn’t careful on the honeymoon, they just may keep her and put her on a float for the princess parade!
Some shots from Trevitt Hall .

Tracie and Danny were wed on July 5, 2008 at Grandview, in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. It was a lovely location with a lovely view! Danny and Tracie live in Ohio but have family in Florida as well. So, they chose Grandview because it was a location halfway between their families. We were very honored to celebrate their special day with them! Everyone seemed to have a blast and special thanks to the family for being such sweethearts!

We met up with Rebecca and Evan at Berry College in Rome, Georgia for their Engagement Photos. There are so many photo opportunities there! We really enjoyed our time getting to know them and capturing their romantic moments! The two of them are so cute together and love was in the air. They both were so sweet! We are looking forward to capturing their wedding later this year. Here are a few photos:

We had a blast helping Amber trash her dress at Keown Falls (located in Northwest Georgia near Villanow and LaFayette) recently! She was such a sport and a sweetie! She hiked the whole way up to to the falls (a little over a mile each way) in her dress! It was a bit of a hike with all our gear, but we definitely say that it was worth it. Unfortunately, the falls were not flowing their best due to the dry weather. We still love the shots that we got and want to share.
After Keown Falls, we went to a local area just minutes away called The Pocket. We dipped Amber in the mountain spring water!

Amy & Nick were married on June 21, 2008 in Conyers, Georgia. The ceremony was breathtaking and the reception a blast! The ceremony took place at St. Pius Catholic Church in Conyers, Georgia. The reception was held at Always Banquet Facility in Conyers, Georgia, which was lovely. Both sites were very helpful and accommodating.
At every moment, we were made to feel welcome, appreciated, and even like part of the family! A very special thanks to Amy’s mom for putting us up in a hotel the night after. It was much appreciated and very nice to stay local that evening. We loved every moment and had such a great time with their family and friends!
Nick and Amy themselves are so sweet and really wonderful together. Really, they are gentle spirits with such a talent for music! We can’t wait to put together their DVD with their own music. It will make a very special touch.
We had such a great time with Amy & Nick, that we are sure to have a void! After photographing their engagement, Amy’s bridal, and now wedding….it won’t be the same without them! Here are just a few photos from the wedding. It will be a bit before we have all the rest done, as we took a lot!
These mops were hanging just outside the church and we couldn’t resist the fun shot!
We arranged to have Amy’s Bridal Photos taken at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, in Atlanta. This location had special meaning to the bride-to-be, so we were happy to accomodate. We had never been to the site, so we were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the location! There were so many beautiful rooms and photo opportunities! It was a very enjoyable afternoon!
Amy had asked for her gallery to be locked until after her wedding, so now we would like to share her images. Stay tuned for wedding photos soon!
This is one of my absolute favorites!
Such beautiful architecture.
The lighting was perfect!
…And it was back to Rolling Ridge Farms, LLC for the second session of camp! This time, it was the Intermediate Camp. There was some great riding going on! Kudos to the girls and the instructors for weathering that heat! Keep up the good work everyone and kisses to all the horses.
It was so dusty too from all the riding and lack of rain. Emerging from the dust…
Waiting patiently for their turn.

Stephanie & Derek were wed on June 14, 2008 at the Hill City Baptist Church, in Resaca, Georgia. Before the event, we got together at Stephanie’s uncle’s beautiful property to take some outdoor photos. We were able to capture so many moments before the rain came and went. So glad we picked the morning to take the photos outdoors though or we would have all melted! We had a great time and the wedding party were really a blast!
Here are some of our favorites from that day:
We will have the entire gallery up soon!
We got to have some fun out on the farm again! We did some bridal photos for Amber. She’s an outdoor type girl, so we love that! We will be doing a trash the dress session with her soon also, so stay tuned for that!

The big day finally arrived for Brittay and Thomas’s Wedding! They were wed in Cleveland, TN on June 7th, 2008. They tied the knot in the prettiest little church! We were very surprised when we arrived that the bride had fractured her foot a few days before the wedding. So, we had both bride and mother-of-the-bride on crutches! She was a trooper though, you would never know by most of the pictures! She even made it down the aisle without the crutches! We hope that you can look back someday (after you are all healed) and laugh about the whole thing Brittany!
Here are a few of the photos we took that day. We had a great time with the Bride and Groom and the Bride’s Mother was such a sweetie!
Brittany’s dress was so lovely!
This was a very original idea that we had not seen before. Instead of trying to get your dauther to wear your outdated wedding dress, put it on display! We thought this was a really unique and cool idea! Both mother and mother-in-law-to-be put their wedding dresses on display with a photo of their wedding day. It was really nice!
Thomas sang to Brittany during the ceremony. It was very romantic and Thomas had a WONDERFUL voice! American Idol???
Thanks for all the fun guys! See their entire gallery.
I had the extreme privilege to photograph a great group of kids two weeks ago. They were the Beginner Summer Camp Group at Rolling Ridge Farms, LLC (http://www.rollingridgefarm.com/). The ages were around 4-5 year olds and look at them ride!! Very cute! I will be doing the Intermediate and Advanced Camps coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that!
Hmm…they didn’t tell me that this could get messy!
This shot reminds me of a carousel horse! Would you believe that he is 27 (the horse of course!)?! Such a sweet boy!
My mom and I took a little getaway to Gatlinburg in May. On the way back, we spent the day driving around Cade’s Cove. This was the first time I had to been to either…I know, I know, never been to Gatlingburg?!! If you have never taken the time to drive around the scenic loop at Cade’s Cove, it is worth it! Little hint, pack a picnic lunch. There are plenty of scenic spots to stop and enjoy!
We never figured out what all the buzz was about by these butterflies. They kept coming out of the woods by the numbers and swarming in this spot.
A random lone daisy.
We recently got a new lens, the Canon 50 mm 1.2 L Series! So, I just had to try it out (multiple times) on my favorite subject, our dog Kylie Sue! I think she was getting a little tired of smiling. Wow! She even looks a little vicious in this photo. Such attitude… LOVE the lens!

We have finally settled on a logo! All this time, we have just picked font that we liked and added a photo or two, so that we weren’t tied down. Well, we are going to commit! Here’s our new logo:

Feel free to let us know what you think about our new look! We are very excited! Now….some patience with all the conversion. So many new places to put our logo! Wow! Stay tuned for a little website and blog tweaking. A very very big thank-you to our dear friend Dana for her design and total kudos! We love it and hope you will too!
We met up with Thomas & Brittany on March 2, 2008 at Barnsley for their engagement session. They are getting married this summer and we are honored to be capturing that as well. Barnsely is blessed with many great photo spots and I think we were all a bit worn out at the end! We are quite sure that the photos were well worth it!
Here are a few of our favorites:

We had a few unexpected visitors, so we just had to incorporate them into our shot!

Barnsley Gardens is located in Bartow County, Georgia, about 60 miles north of Atlanta. A special thanks to Donna for her help coordinating the shoot. She was very prompt with her contacts and made our job easier! Also, another thanks to Barnsley for letting our couple dream in the Lexus!….hmmm….what is the plural of Lexus? Lexi? Lexuses? Don’t think I ever imagined having to use the plural! :)
Nick and Amy are getting married on June 21, 2008. We got together February 9, 2008 at Stone Mountain, Georgia to capture some moments. This is the place that Nick proposed to Amy, so the site had special meaning to the couple. We had a wonderful time getting to know them and got some really great shots (if we do say so ourselves!). It was quite an adventure! We hiked to the top to capture the sun going down and weren’t really expecting the temperature difference and all the wind! Anything for a good photo! Hey guys, “one more…!”
We would like to thank Amy’s mom again for lunch and for such great company! We can’t wait for the big day!
Here are some of our favorites:
On top of the mountain. Such wonderful lighting!
